Villagers Notes

The Rhogar

We can't stand against such force much longer. We must find a place to hide. A place with walls and soldiers. Mighty Antanas, we will be on our way. Please prepare for a few dozens of refugees. Found at the Monastery. After the battle with the First Warden, retrace your steps to the entrance, down the stairs and turn right. The scroll will be at the far end of the path.

Monk Notes

The Rhogar

Dear father. The fires on the horizon., they are spreading towards our village I beg you... Be careful. Something evil is happening, I can feel that. You can always seek refuge here, in the Monastery. Whatever happens, Antanas can save us. Please... Please be safe.... Found at the Monastery, right after the First Warden boss fight. Go up the stairs in then turn right, The scroll is next to the man which you can talk to.

the_roghar-guard_notes_small.jpg

Guard Notes

The Rhogar

This is getting out of hand. The villagers assemble in front of the monastery and demand admission. We can't let any more in. We will starve to death. Antanas ordered to close the gate. I understand his reasons, but... These are people... He's supposed to be the savior! Found after the Commander boss fight. Next to the checkpoint, heading towards the graveyard.

infested-the_sick_small.jpg

The Sick

Infested

It is in me. And it is changing me. My skull... the bones are moving. Growing. It does not feel like a poison in my veins. More like liquid darkness. We have seen with others what happens next. Eyesight goes first. Then follows sanity. Brother Peter, Brother William and I won't let the disease take us. We will choose death before it chooses us. Found at the Keystone Citadel Tutorial. After the first enemy, go to the door to the left after going down the stairs. Continue right but don’t go down the stairs. Remain on the small path. The lore item would be at the end of the path

infested-the_guard_small.jpg

The Guard

Infested

These things keep coming. We fight them, yes, but their numbers are too big. It is sickening to see them move. Their limbs twist and turn in ways they're not supposed to. And their smell... it is like fire and death are creeping up your nose. One of the creatures we were fighting spat on us. The saliva hit my eye. It burned. And it burns deeper into me... Found at the Keystone Citadel Tutorial.  From the where the is Stick, go to the doorway in the left. After going through a small corridor, which opens out into a larger room. You will find the scroll here.
night_watch-fourth_night_small.jpg

Fourth Night

Night Watch

This is my fourth night on watch. The first three have been quiet, except for the rumors that spread among us. Rumors about the Rhogar. They are nowhere to be seen, but there's glow on the horizon. The villages are burning And the fire may creep closer. I don't think it will be quiet much longer... Found after the Commander boss fight. At the end of the bridge.
night_watch-sixth_night_small.jpg

Sixth Night

Night Watch

This is my sixth night on watch. The fires on the horizon, have burnt out. An all-encompassing silence has fallen. Maybe the Rhogar have retreated. I hope the villagers can return to their homes soon... In the Outer Passage. Through the tower after finding the gauntlet. Right behind the locked door (Tower Key) by the archer an abomination.
night_watch-ninth_night_small.jpg

Ninth Night

Night Watch

Ninth night on the watch. How could the Rhogar get inside the sacred walls of Keystone? They appeared out of nowhere. The graveyard is swarming with them. I need to alert the others. Found in the Southern Watchtower.
night_watch-last_night_small.jpg

Last Night

Night Watch

I must reach the signal tower on the other side of the graveyard. It's suicide, but... But I have no other choice. This is our only hope for help. ...If there is a place to help can come from. Found after the Commander boss fight. Next to a big tree.

Three Heroes

Tales of Old

Soon after banishing the god, the three men that were now known as the Judges parted ways forever. Apart from their common goal, they were different in every possible way. Three statues built for them on the Square of the Judges, displaying the distinct paths they had taken. These statues hold a secret as if it were their heart. But it is retained by the stone. Only the Shards of Heroes could make that heartbeat, and only an unearthly force could tear it out. Found at the Monastery, right after the first boss battle.
tales_of_old-kyles_grave_small.jpg

Kyle's Grave

Tales of Old

Graveyard has been plundered. May this have something to do grave of this murderer? The Skinner? Was it an act of thievery has the murderer... risen from his grave? Nobody believes me, but this cursed soul needs to be put to rest. Found in the outskirts of the graveyard. (Worshiper boss battle area)
tales_of_old-kyles_sword_small.jpg

Kyle's Sword

Tales of Old

This sword must be cursed. Found it in a grave I plundered a few nights ago, the grave of some 'Kyle Ember', I think. When I hold it, my body seems to get weaker and weaker. I feel... so frail. But the sword itself... it's incredible! Whoever finds it: leave it be. It is too dangerous. In the Catacombs next to heirloom tomb. (Where you upgrade the Heirloom)
tales_of_old-iv_small.jpg

Crafter's Pet

Tales of Old

Swords are made for mortals. But this sword... it is something else. If I find the right runes... If I only imbue them on it... This sword will be fit for Gods. On the second floor of the Eastern Antechamber in the Abandoned Temple in NG++ () - possible to collect in NG+
tales_of_old-svens_hammer_small.jpg

Sven's Hammer

Tales of Old

This beast seems to have more instinct than mind. It only wants to kill. A few weeks ago I found a hammer that it seems to fear... The weapon must be imbued with some magic that I don't understand. If such a beast fears it, I have every reason to fear it too. Better to lock it up in the cell 11 to keep it safe. From the room in which you found Prisons
tales_of_old-troublemakers_small.jpg

Troublemakers

Tales of Old

We found those two fighting in the rain, calling each other murderers. We didn't have time to investigate, we imprisoned both of them just in case. Even if none of them is a murderer, both are loud troublemakers. In the Catacombs. Right before the Champion boss fight.
tales_of_old-troublemaker_small.jpg

Troublemaker

Tales of Old

I have to confess that I have made a mistake. Yes, I have stolen something. Not out of necessity, but out of geed. I was not starving and I was not dying. I just wanted it, because... well, I wanted it. But is that enough to imprison me like that? They think of evil as an absolute. Anything evil is pure evil. But am I evil just for stealing? In the Catacombs after Champion boss fight. Up the stairs.
  grim_places-fancy_looks_small.jpg

Fancy Looks

Grim Places

Mighty Antanas. I found a track of a Rhogar Lord that was once known for his preoccupancy with the physical shell, and his shield being no less than a weaponry masterpiece. That's most peculiar, as I would have never suspected Rhogar care for it. No wonder he had the most dedicated followers in all the battles he commanded.  In the tower after finding the gauntlet.
grim_places-grim_graves_small.jpg

Grim Graves

Grim Places

Graves need to be tended and never forgotten. Gladly will I care for the dead until the day I join them. Should I ever feel insecure, I know that I can retreat into one of the graveyard's sacred shrines. The will shield me off from evil, for they were built at the time when Keystone was erected, to repel things from other worlds, lest they want to come close to our buried heroes. Found in secret entrance to the Worshiper boss fight. Need to jump off the ledge from the tower with the beacon on it.
grim_places-cruel_species_small.jpg

Cruel Species

Grim Places

Mighty Antanas. I just came across an ancient message depicting what might be the most daring creation of the Rhogar. Bigger than all Lords, odd number of limbs, twisted flesh mixed with weapons. And it said something immunity or healing. Near the checkpoint before the Infiltrator boss. In the area with two spiders.
grim_places-blind_fury_small.jpg

Blind Fury

Grim Places

The locked and hidden parts of Catacombs could be holding more than secrets and sins we are aware of. One of the Rhogar Lords leading the raid on Keystone has been spotted inside. He killed lots of our soldiers before they even noticed the danger. All we know so far is that he somehow feeds on our rage. Let us feed on his. In the Catacombs. Behind a cellar in the roundabout.
grim_places-v_small.jpg

Vicious Poison

Grim Places

I have watched prisoners get dragged into the pit. Then we released the monster. It tore them apart and spat green saliva on them. They screamed. Feron and I, we're not easily shocked. We both vomited when we saw this. However, this beast was created... It's deadly, it's wrong, and I don't know why anyone would let something like this exist. In the "Beast Cage" (Catacombs) after you killed the Beast
grim_places-wild_fire_small.jpg

Wild Fire

Grim Places

Mighty Antanas. There must be a Rhogar Lord that bears the power of fire in his arsenal. He uses two barbaric greatswords with so much ease that there must be an elemental force aiding him. He probably would be much less of a threat without it. Eastern Antechamber after entering the Rhogar realm a second time.
grim_places-vii_small.jpg

Lost Memories

Grim Places

Mighty Antanas. There must be something that has been keeping people from finding a way inside the hand of fallen Adyr for so long. All evidence on those getting through the underground chambers leading there seems to be filled with lost memories as if those who made it were shocked by something. Right before the Annihilator boss fight on the bridge.
our_new_home-i_small.jpg

Keystone

Our New Home

When much blood has been spilled, the veil between worlds gets thinner. It may even rip. Then worlds collide. Keystone has been built to prevent that from happening. It is not just a monument of the battle itself. The monastery is a rock, and as long as it stands we are safe. In Watchtower after finding the gauntlet. In the room with the spider. (NG+ Only)
our_new_home-deep_down_small.jpg

Deep Down

Our New Home

My workers have restarted building the foundations of the west wing. We thought we knew our monastery inside and out. Yes, it contains many secrets, but something like this? We discovered corridors deep in the ground. It looks like the monastery as we know it has been built on something that's much older. Maybe even older than the Judge stories. In the Catacombs. Up the stairs before the Champion boss fight.
our_new_home-end_of_the_line_small.jpg

End of the Line

Our New Home

We didn't finish the work inside corridors. The ceiling collapsed. We were told to leave it alone, as it makes a good shortcut. It is enough to keep taking left from the main catacombs entrance to eventually reach the hole in the wall. This might be the shortest way right now. In the Catacombs. (The Pit)
 dimensions-temple_small.jpg

Temple

Dimensions

When the Judges banished the god, the Rhogar disappeared, together with the whole Temple. People say that sometimes when you visit the Hand of God Mountains, you can see a mirage of the Temple... Could it be that they somehow got... ...sucked into another dimension of sorts? In the outskirts of the graveyard. (Worshiper boss fight)
 dimensions-shards_small.jpg

Shards

Dimensions

Shards... They form wherever there's a rift. The matter of both dimensions clashes and crystallizes in this incredible form, full of power. Some bigger rifts... They can form shards so big that it's impossible to move them. Who knows what power can be held in shards of such size... Western Antechamber under the stairs in Rhogar realm - requires a key from the Tyrant guarding the bridge.
 dimensions-runes_small.jpg

Runes

Dimensions

Clearly the runes are like ghosts that travel between the dimensions. They form links between them and transport powers from one dimension to another. A rune can bestow incredible power on the simplest of objects. But I must be careful, handling runes is dangerous... Abandoned Temple above Yetka's final quest.
 dimensions-rifts_small.jpg

Rifts

Dimensions

It's only a matter of time before the thin layer between the dimensions will start to break. Threads of energy collide in time and space. Strong ones form links between dimensions. Most rifts are just inaccessible sources of energy, but some others... They become the pathways. Some appear like a whirlwind, like a madness no one of sane mind would dare to enter. I have not traveled through a pathway myself, but some say it changes you when you do... After the Tyrant Boss Battle go up the stairs in the left side. In that area in the left side of the open area, there would be the lore item.
 dimensions-my_treasure_small.jpg

My Treasure

Dimensions

It took hundreds of years for me to make it. It took minutes for Rhogar to take it away. My crystal of travels. My biggest treasure and biggest loss. It grew so powerful... What journeys might the Rhogar seek... What journeys will the Rhogar find... Rhogar Realm. In the area where you get the trinket The Keep. Look after three dogs at one spot.

Ultimate Sin

Old Religion

The god's domain shall not be touched. This has been known for eons. How could they start a rebellion against Adyr? Before this fire could be extinguished, it spread. It became an uprising against God. The ultimate sin. After defeating The Guardian. Talk with Yetka in Chamber of Lies. She will give you all lores in the category.
old_religion-prayers_small.jpg

Prayers

Old Religion

These heretics known as Judges thought they would succeed. The good people prayed though, they prayed with their priests day and night. And Adyr heard them. He sent forth the Lords to end the uprising and lead the herd back into his loving arms.  After defeating The Guardian. Talk with Yetka in Chamber of Lies. She will give you all lores in the category.
old_religion-fire_in_the_sky_small.jpg

Fire in the Sky

Old Religion

The sky lit in flames and night became day. But it was the day of ruin, because the fire in the sky fell and scorched the earth that had sinned. The heretics who defied Adyr erupted in these very flames, and the fire knew no mercy. It rolled forward.  After defeating The Guardian. Talk with Yetka in Chamber of Lies. She will give you all lores in the category.
old_religion-gods_wrath_small.jpg

God's Wrath

Old Religion

So it came that the Lords walked the earth, sent for by Adyr himself. They were not greeted in humility but fought by heretics. The most beautiful creatures of our god were attacked, even slain. When Adyr saw what the people had done, he was angry with all mankind.  After defeating The Guardian. Talk with Yetka in Chamber of Lies. She will give you all lores in the category.

Prepare to Die

Old Religion

Without Adyr, the heretics roam freely. I can hear them. They enjoy their victory, and they are not finished. Blood of god's disciples flows in the streets. They expect us to be afraid, but we are ready to die alongside our god. Who would want to live in a world without a god?  After defeating The Guardian. Talk with Yetka in Chamber of Lies. She will give you all lores in the category.
new_religion-i_small.jpg

The Judges

New Religion

So it came that after ages of slavery, three proud men defied Adyr, our God. They gave us a new sense of right and wrong. They told us how to live freely. Hence people called them the Judges. Eastern Antechamber, upper floor. Writings on the wall, right next to bars blocking your way. Tested on NG, NG+ and NG++
new_religion-the_lords_small.jpg

The Lords

New Religion

The Lords were sent upon the humans to crush the rebellion. There were no more believers or unbelievers - there was only death. Still, the Judges didn't fall back. They cried freedom. And Adyr's rage grew bigger and bigger. In the Abandoned Temple. If you go back from the portal to where the crippled rhogar first is, it is in the corridor to his left on the wall. (Wall writing)
new_religion-the_war_small.jpg

The War

New Religion

As the fire came down, the Judges didn't hesitate. They faced the Lords of the god. We all hid wherever we could, but they stayed and fought. When we came out of our hiding, the world was black and dead - but we were still alive. And we knew who we had to thank for it.  In the abandoned temple. On one of the walls in the altar ruins. (Wall writing)
new_religion-the_triumphs_small.jpg

The Triumphs

New Religion

And the three brave men have defeated the last of the Lords, dilling Adyr's cup of rage. And he faced them himself on the battlefield. This was when the hateful god was defeated and the humanity triumphed! Chamber of Lies. Right after you enter on the left from the courtyard of the Guardian.
new_religion-prepare_to_live_small.jpg

Prepare to Live

New Religion

The Ancient Temple is gone, but it was a sign of old times anyway. Rhogar are gone as well and the god is no more. A new era has begun - the time of the Judges. We will build new temples to honour the Judges that have freed this world. Chamber of Lies. Enter from the glowing stone rings flying around (where Yetka's questline takes you), climb all the stairs and go right. It's on the corridor wall.
prisons-i_small.jpg

Second Chance

Prisons

What kind of madness is this, Antanas? Letting the criminals from their cells to fight Rhogar? These bastards will sooner cut our throats than fight the demons. Aren't the Rhogar dangerous enough? Do we need another threat to fend off? Old Gardens after killing Antanas
 prisons-care_small.jpg

Care

Prisons

Some people say we punish too hard. I say it's not even enough. We are still much to forgiving. Whoever commits a crime should be killed right away. After ANY crime. We'd be rid of all the sinners and would live in eternal peace. But we put them away. In here. And I'm the one who has to take care of them. Care. That's the last thing they deserve.  In the Catacombs. Underneath one of the staircases in the well of death.
 prisons-branded_small.jpg

Branded

Prisons

Before imprisonment, every criminal is branded. The tattoo on his face shows everyone his sins. Even if someone manages to escape from prison, he won't escape from his own face. In the Catacombs. In a cellar in the roundabout.

They brought another man in here yesterday. He was plotting against Antanas. Curse him and his family. I can sit here with murderers and thieves, but I just hate this... politicals. In the Catacombs. In a cellar in the roundabout.

New Disciple

After the War

After the war we buried our dead and mourned them. We were battered and beaten, and it took its toll on us. But it was also a new beginning. the Judges showed us the path. As their heirs it is our duty to rebuild this society. I will gladly accept the burden of becoming the new Judge, a guardian of humanity. In the Citadel. In the Lost Brothers boss battle area. (Might need to pick up before the battle, after the Champion boss fight)
after_the_war-judge_disciple_small.jpg

Judge Disciple

After the War

In the names of the Judges we will make this world whole again, without the influence of Adyr. It will be a life free from divine oppression. By this, we will honor those who died in the fight that freed us from Adyr. In the Citadel, before the door to the Beast boss fight.

Old Priest

 After the War

They are like children. They think they shook off the shackles of oppression. But they are nothing more than lost souls. Every single one of them. Soon they will realize that they are alone. That they are helpless. They will be lying in the streets, starving, wishing Adyr was still here to take care of them. In the Citadel. Up the double staircase in the first room on the left.

Angry Priest

 After the War

There is one heresy that can never be forgiven and that is defying your true God. this sin is eternal and will haunt generations to come. Our children and their children will curse us, for they are the ones who will continue to suffer because of our grave mistakes. In the Citadel. After you confirm with the Captain that all the Rhogar are dead. Straight ahead.

The Rebel

 After the War

The war is won! This will shape history. Man has killed a God. Adyr will not mess with our fate anymore. His followers, having realized the defeat of their idol, scrambles into the shadows, like cockroaches when you lift a stone from the ground. now it is on to smash these very stones on their heads. Our time has come. In the Citadel. After you confirm with the Captain that all the Rhogar are dead. In the first room on the left.

Their Purpose

Lords of the Fallen

What exactly are the Lords? They wield power beyond our understanding. They fight fiercely and they are blindly following the god. Anyone who tried to talk to them, reason with them... has failed. The Lords have not come for discussions. They have come to serve their purpose, to lead the Rhogar army sent upon humans. Found at the Monastery, at the bottom of the staircase after the first boss battle.

Join Me

The Plot

My fellows: As much as i want, I cannot see Antanas our spiritual leader anymore. Proclaiming principles and honor, his influence seems limitless, and limits are what he needs. He is determined to fight until the end, and even if this battle is our fate, I cannot condone what he does. Our people just matter for him, not beings? Does he really heal them? I think not. Join me and share your doubts. In the Citadel. Up the double staircase in the first room on the left.
the_plot-ii_small.jpg

Point Three

The Plot

My fellows: As much as I appreciate our common understanding that something needs to be done, I cannot fully support this manifest. Especially point three is questionable. How could the Rhogar help us restoring peace if they do not even talk to us? How could we be sure to use them for our cause? We all want to see Antanas gone. True. But more bloodshed is whoever's name? This cannot be the way. In the Citadel cellars.

Dirty Work

The Plot

My friends: Perhaps we can make use of the Rhogar to win against Antanas. If we let them in, Antanas will fall and we will be able to rebuild on the ashes. We only need an individual who could pave the way for the Rhogar - and they would do the dirty work for us... In the Citadelcellars.

Books

The Research

These books are not just a myth, Ingvar. They exist. I've seen them myself. Last week Antanas brought them to the monastery under cover of darkness and would not allow any of us to even touch them. He carried them to the Planetarium. These must be the scriptures we have spoken of so many times...the keys that unlock the portal to other worlds. This is good. We will be safe now. In the Citadel. After you confirm with the captain that the Rhogar are all dead.

The Research

Antanas is powerful beyond I have ever witnessed. He is determined to free this world of evil. He has succeeded in pulling demons out of the body of the possessed. Could it be the beginning of an end of evil In the Catacombs. Near Graveyard entrance, behind the shortcut door.
the_research-doubt_small.jpg

Doubts

The Research

Of course, it is a good thing when the evil is eliminated from a person. Evil is gone. But...what remains of the person is...different. We need to look closer, and personally, I don't know how to treat these people. They seem to behave normally. They walk, talk, but in some way they just seem...unreal. In the Catacombs. Near Graveyard entrance, behind the shortcut door.

Berinon is growing up so fast. He already started to walk. He enjoys it, he's laughing with every step. It hurts to look into his eyes, for they are his mother's. Evil stays in this world, I have to accept it. There is no way to really drive it away. The only thing I can do is channel it into new forms. Mutations. They may be our future. The Subjects

Dark Deeds

Today I was ordered to carry two monks down to the Catacombs. They were kicking and screaming, cursing the name of the Mighty Antanas.I don't know what awaits them in the darkness, but they deserve whatever is coming to them. Near the challenge crystal portal before the Lost Brothers. (Must kill them first)
dark_deeds-iv_small.jpg

The Results

Dark Deeds

These monks... They do not deserve this! They were given some kind of elixir and it... it changed them. First they screamed in agony and fell down, motionless. Then... then they started to grow. Once engulfed in fire, second surrounded by lighting. I ran from there. I cannot watch. After the Lost Brothers fight. At the end of the room.

Time

The Traveller

What is time? A blink of an eye and eternity in equal amounts. I have been everywhere and seen everything. Looking at the shimmering surface of the runes, my mind seems to explode into a million shards. They invite me to play, to play with time itself. Should I follow their call, I wonder...  NG+/Chamber of Lies, first room after Guardian boss battle.
 the_traveller-ii_small.jpg

Chaos

The Traveller

In the beginning it hurt to travel between the dimensions. Oh, the pain was unbearable. But it gets better. So much better. Why stay in one place, when all of time and space is wide open? I saw the chaos that binds everything and it is unlike anything else in any world.   NG+/Chamber of Lies entered from Guardian boss battle, near checkpoint shard. Go upstairs.
 the_traveller-iii_small.jpg

Trapped

The Traveller

The journey left me stranded. Old temples, existing forever. Forbidden chambers, frozen in eternity. My crystals have been taken, or will be taken. I need to build them anew. Forge them, craft them. I am trapped. A hammer and an anvil will make my new heartbeat, the sound of metal replacing a crystalline sparkle of a never-ending whirl.  NG+/At broken bridge, connecting both sides of the Chamber of Lies. The Traveller

I have already seen the end of everything. I know what happens to Judges and sinners. But is that the real end of just a chaotic image? If fate exists, it consists of millions of possibilities.  NG+/From checkpoint shard before Annihilator boss, look at another site of the chamber. You have to jump at the left side. Greater Powers

Mighty Antanas, my research is over. I dare to claim that this gauntlet does only one thing, but it does it rather well. It eats hatred like a hungry lion and spits it out like a dragon spits fire. Its bearer can wield it like a horrible weapon but his soul must not be pure. A shattered soul will make most out of this device. Every NG/ Found at the Monastery - same location where you find your gauntlet. On the bridge before Commander boss.

Judge Cleric

Greater Powers

Mighty Antanas. As requested, I have been seeking origins of the powers that Principal Judge Cleric possessed. Unfortunately the only records I found incline nothing more than his physique being the weakest of all three and because of that, he relied on softening the opponents when fighting them. NG+ /After first Dimension Portal go upstairs, kill Rhogar with axe, and reach balcony, turn back, lore is at left site of statue.

Judge Assassin

Greater Powers

Mighty Antanas. My findings on the most important Principal Judge Assassin are indeed a track of hatred and vengeance. It appears he must have loathed the act of physical struggle as much as he hated the Rhogar itself and thus wished for his fights to be short and lethal in the first place. NG+ /Near first empty bottle location. In place where you need to roll under doors to access chest.

Judge Warrior

Greater Powers

Mighty Antanas. There is not much to be found on the Principal Judge Warrior, apart from his outstanding will and persistence that led to training his body and spirit to never give up. Yet, I personally wouldn't believe the fairy tales people say about killing a Lord with bare fists. NG+/At the balcony near Shard of Heroes.
