Getting Started Gameplay Farming Official FAQ

Getting Started

See our About page to get some general ideas on the concepts of the game. You should then visit the Classes page and select a class you believe would be approachable to your style. To proceed through the game, you can refer to our Locations page for an overview of the recommended route, or check out the Walkthrough provided.

  • What is the best class?

There is no one best class, and they are all highly customizable. It could be said that the Solace magic tree can be the safest, since it provides healing and buffing spells for your character, but your performance in combat will be highly tied to your weapon, armor and attributes choices. Please see our Charcter Builds page to get ideas from other players.

  • Where is the jump button?

You can hold down X to sprint and then tap it again to jump.

  • Is there a level cap in Lords of the Fallen?

There is no level cap in Lords of the Fallen, however there are only three game cycles: NG, NG+ and NG++

  • Can you sell items?

You cannot sell items. There are no merchants or currency

  • Where should I go after I beat ___?

You can follow our Game Progress Route .

  • What is a good weapon?

Please see our Weapons page and note Weapon Terminology for helping with your choice. Weapons have different movesets and attack speeds, and your playstyle will affect which is your favorite. We recommend choosing a weapon with a preferred moveset and then building your character around it.
  • What is the white number and percentage in the bottom left of the screen?

The number is how long you need to get back to claim your exp and the percentage is how much exp is left as exp bleeds away.

Gameplay

  • Is this game open world?

The game is not an open world, but it’s not linear either. You open more and more areas as you progress through the game, with a fair amount of secrets and optional explorations. The world is incredibly interconnected and will feel like a maze.

  • How do I unlock this door?

See the Quest Items page for a list of keys, where they are found, and the doors they unlock.

  • Can I upgrade Items? Can I unsocket Runes?

Runes are found in sealed small rune and big small rune variants, and you will need to locate the NPC Crafter to break the seal and reveal the runes inside. Runes are then placed in items with socket.png sockets.
You can remove a rune from an item at the crafter

  • Are there Parries and Backstabs?

Yes there are both and they require specific timing. Please see our combat page for details on this and energy management.

  • Is there a penalty for dying?

You lose the experience you are carrying when you dying and it remains on your ghost where you died. The xp will gradually bleed away over time, so you must hurry back to acquire all of it.

  • How does Experience work? Do you level up? Can you level up at any time?

You gain XP for killing enemies, completing quests and exploring the world. You can use XP to purchase Spell Points or Attribute Points. Every time you point a point into an attribute you level up. You must level up at a checkpoint and you must have enough experience to do so.

  • Where is the Annihilator?

((please help us improve this paragaph)
To find him you have 3 way's to go, and you need to go by 2 of them to use the lever which gives you acces to another quest mission and final lord fight.
1st one is to kill a boss called Guardian and then wreck everything in the maze to find the lever.
2nd one is when you had a checkpoint just near the cave with the spiders and pitfalls.
3rd one is after Infiltrator fight. You will have a big doors which opens a part of quest.
From 2nd and 3rd you can get to a 2nd lever and you can access Annihilator from there.

It highly depends on your skill. If you focus on the main path, you should be able to finish the game in around 15 hours. There are 9 Classes. Different Classes begin the game with different Attributes, different gear and one of the three magic types that will be there only type for their entire playghrough. The Classes although, different, but not drastically so.

  7. How does the loot system work? Is there a large number of items with few good ones? Are there less items with more of them being good? Can loot be upgraded?
