The Keep is a Trinket in Lords of the Fallen. They are items that provide the player with passive aid.

 

"A trinket worn the by the Warriors of the Medusa, who were known for their art of petrification, strengthening their skin and so providing extra resistance to attacks."

How to Acquire

After defeating Infiltrator, there is a hound outside the Eternal Flame arena near the Statue that reads "for the one who stood up for us". If you attack it, it will run off down the path next to the statue all the way down and left till you can't go any further and will wait for you there. If you attack it you will be ambushed. If you survive the ambush you will receive this trinket.

      Yeah, this is bugged for me too. I saw the Hound on NG and when it ran away I legit thought it was a bugged animation or something and didn't chase it. Then I found out that it was in fact intentional and part of a sidequest, but was already in NG+. The hound wasn't at the first location in NG+ again, instead it was already at its second location for whatever reason. I killed it, but no additional hounds spawned.

        As far as I can tell the encounter itself is bugged, it should drop fine if it triggers but in my case the dog is permanently softlocked (AI won't activate resulting in ambush not activating properly), this renders the trinket unobtainable.

        My theory is that I straight up killed the dog before it could run away, yes it has gated HP to start running but it would've been at 1 HP so the poison ticks could easily have killed it before it despawned and the next one spawned in its new location (as evident from the poison glow effect being stuck at the stairs where it presumably despawned). I have the save backed up as well, it's quite reproducible (in so far that I've reloaded it a couple times to see if it fixed it, spoiler it didn't).

        The second theory is that I had already cleared that area out on my first run through, but it's a stretch.
